Our journey in a few words

Not your typical journey

Perhaps the best learning experience anyone can have is rejection. It teaches you how to persevere, it keeps you humble and hungry, but most importantly, it reveals character.

In 2004, concepts of acquisitions, turn arounds and exits were academic at best to me. Sure, university taught you what it meant, but it did’nt teach you how to get there.

After a stint as a telemarketer, it became obvious to me that the mantra “it’s not personal, it’s business” was flawed in its logic. People spent their whole lives building businesses, and it was deeply personal to them. Selling anything of any value to anyone was as personal as it gets.

Out of that understanding, a personal philosophy was born. Approach other people’s businesses as if it was your own.

Over the course of the years, I was able to progressively hold positions of responsibility in different companies and industries. Spent three years in Beijing helping a Chinese company “think” and “function” like a western company. Created businesses, sold them and took them from 0 to 100. Had a public exit, and advised on a few more. In some cases it was trial by fire, sometimes it was familiar, but not once was it not personal.

“We entrepreneurs are loners, vagabonds, troublemakers. Success is simply a matter of finding and surrounding ourselves with those open-minded and clever souls who can take our insanity and put it to good use.”

We live by these words. We have been all of those things and more. That is what makes us uniquely suited to support you in your success. We have lived through it.
